Dr. Keith Lisonbee

Earning a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Lisonbee enjoys his role as a trusted dentist near Bellview who helps change patients’ lives for the better. Whether it’s relieving someone of chronic pain or enhancing their smile to restore their confidence, he remains passionate about his work at Patriot Dental.

But dentistry wasn’t his initial career choice. He originally wanted to pursue a career in pharmacy, leading him to work in a hospital pharmacy in Pensacola while earning his undergraduate degree. However, he realized that this type of work didn’t offer him the chance to converse and work closely with individuals, so he decided to shadow his dentist. This experience allowed him to see the connection and relationships that were built between the doctor and patient – something Dr. Lisonbee truly desired.

After completing his undergraduate degree at Pensacola State College and the University of West Florida, he received his DMD and has since remained devoted to pursuing additional continuing education courses to expand his knowledge and skillset.

When he’s not in the office, you’ll often find him with his wife, Ashlyn, and their two dogs, Barkley and Luna. He also enjoys grilling, watching football, and playing a round of golf.

Dr. Dan Henry

Dr. Henry’s 40+ year career in dentistry makes him a highly experienced dentist near Bellview whom patients trust. Helping generations of families take better care of their oral health, he founded Patriot Dental and enjoys working alongside Dr. Lisonbee to deliver the highest quality dental care in the area.

Knowing he wanted to be a dentist from a young age, he attended Florida State University, completing a master’s degree in molecular genetics. He then pursued his dental degree at the University of Maryland before completing advanced training in endodontics, oral surgery, and operative dentistry at the Davis-Monthan Airforce Base in Tucson, AZ.

Although he has many decades of experience under his belt, Dr. Henry remains an active member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, and the American Academy of Operative Dentistry.

Outside of the office, you’ll likely find him with his wife, Melinda, and their two children, Matthew and Kelly. Dr. Henry also has many hobbies he thoroughly enjoys, such as woodworking, fishing, hunting, stamp collecting, reading, photography, and going RVing.

FAQs

How do I get emergency dental care?

Your first step in obtaining emergency dental care is to call Patriot Dental as soon as possible and let our team assist you. If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 immediately.

Unfortunately, most hospital emergency rooms, mobile clinics, and urgent care facilities aren’t equipped to handle dental emergencies, and thus if you go there instead, it’s unlikely you’ll be treated.

In most cases, we can accommodate a same-day emergency appointment, but please call us as soon as possible so we can assist you.

Please note that dental emergencies are often an indication of larger dental problems, and important sign that it’s time to get back into the habit of regularly visiting your dentist. Regular dental exams can help prevent future dental emergencies, saving you time, money, and of course your natural teeth!

How much does a dental check-up & cleaning cost in Bellview?

The cost of a dental check-up and cleaning can vary depending on a variety of factors, including your location and your individual oral health.

A check-up and cleaning should always begin with a patient health history and discussion of patient concerns and should also include a thorough examination completed by your dentist, a professional cleaning, X-rays, and an oral cancer screening.

The average cost for a dental check-up and cleaning in markets around the United States average between $200 and $350. If you have dental insurance, your fees (including any out-of-pocket co-pays) are negotiated with Patriot Dental by your dental insurance company.

How many dentists are in Bellview?

With over 12,300 dentists practicing in the State of Florida, it can be difficult to decide which dentist to choose. At Patriot Dental, we are proud to have not one but two skilled and caring dentists, Dr. Keith Lisonbee and Dr. Dan Henry.

Dr. Lisonbee is a talented dentist who actively pursues continuing education and holds a prestigious Fellowship with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, while Dr. Henry has been practicing in Pensacola for over 40 years, and has completed advanced training in endodontics, oral surgery, and operative dentistry.

What level of education is required to be a dentist?

Here in the United States, all dentists must earn either a Doctor of Dental Sciences (DDS) or a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from one of the nation’s 67 accredited dental schools.

Acceptance into dental school requires the student to earn a bachelor's degree (and very high grades) in a major that is heavy in both math and the sciences.

Dental school is then an additional three years, combining hands-on and classroom learning.

Following dental school, some dentists choose to continue their education by earning one of twelve specializations recognized by the American Dental Association (ADA), which require an additional three or more years of dental school training.

Post-graduation, each dentist in the United States must complete a specified number of continuing education hours to keep their dental license active. These exact requirements vary by state.
